About Dr. Bret Fisher

Dr. Bret Fisher is an experienced ophthalmologist and accomplished eye surgeon. He has performed over 50,000 laser vision correction procedures and over 40,000 cataract surgeries over the course of his career. He is board certified in ophthalmology by the the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a Lifetime Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Fisher is regarded as a key opinion leader in the field, and consults on a regular basis with leaders in industry. He has conducted many clinical trials and publishes and lectures frequently. Dr. Fisher also shares his experience with his colleagues at local, national, and international meetings.

After growing up in central Florida, Dr. Fisher received his undergraduate degree at Duke University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He then completed his Doctor of Medicine degree with honors at Duke University School of Medicine. Following an internship in general medicine, Dr. Fisher completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ophthalmology residency at Wills is consistently ranked among the top three in the country. During his time at Wills, Dr. Fisher and his class of fellow residents conceived of, wrote and published the first edition of the Wills Eye Manual, which is the best selling book in the field of ophthalmology.

A caring physician, Dr. Fisher is active in providing eye care to those less fortunate. He is the founder of the Tecate Eye Surgery Cinic for the Flying Samaritans in Tecate, Mexico and also regularly volunteers with Eye Care America and Operation Sight to provide cataract surgery for those in need in our local communities.

Dr. Fisher enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife Katie and four children, as well as playing tennis and golf. He is also an instrument rated private pilot with over 2,000 hours of flight time, and a certified scuba diver
